The Thousand-Year Bond Under the Moonlight

Deep within the shrouded peaks of Mount Yeonhwa, where even the moonlight seemed to tread carefully, lived Yeon-hee, a nine-tailed fox who had endured a thousand years of solitude, Her nine pristine, snow-white tails emitted a faint, mystical aura when night fell, and her beauty was more captivating than that of any noblewoman in the mortal world. Yet, her heart was filled only with a deep, piercing loneliness. For a Gumiho to become a true human, she had to either obtain a complete human heart or receive sincere, untainted love from a mortal in her thousandth year.

Otherwise, she was doomed to fade into nothingness as a mere monster. As autumn deepened in the final year of her millennium, Yeon-hee was sitting alone, drinking in the cold moonlight, disillusioned by the endless greed and deception of mortals.

Then, on a night when a ferocious storm tore through the mountain, she found a man who had lost his way and tumbled down a steep cliff. His name was Seo-Jin, a poor but upright herbal physician who dedicated his life to healing the sick in his village. Watching him bleed and groan in pain, Yeon-hee approached him, intending to consume his human essence as her beastly instincts dictated.

However, even on the brink of consciousness, Seo-Jin tightly clutched a rare herb pressed against his chest and muttered, "With this medicine...my mother and the plague-stricken villagers can be saved..."To see a mortal worry for others rather than his own life at death's door sent a strange shock through Yeon-hee's heart.

Instead of taking his soul, she carried him to her hidden cave and tenderly healed his deep wounds using the mystical power of her fox bead.

When Seo-Jin regained consciousness days later and saw Yeon-hee, he believed a celestial maiden from the heavens had saved him.

Yeon-hee concealed her true identity, claiming to be a frail, lonely woman living isolated in the mountains. To repay her profound kindness, Seo-Jin climbed the treacherous mountain every single day, bringing her sweet wild fruits and the most 🌼beautiful blossoms he could find.

As they spent seasons together, they became deeply intertwined. Yeon-hee listened intently to his stories of he mortal world-its simple sorrows and fleeting joys-and for the first time in a thousand years, she felt her frozen heart melting. It was the very thing she had craved for a millennium: genuine, untainted human love.

However, their peaceful happiness was short-lived. Rumors of a nine-tailed fox haunting the mountain began to spread, drawing greedy hunters and a sinister Taoist sorcerer lured by a massive bounty. The sorcerer tracked down Yeon-hee's sanctuary, casting a powerful barrier that trapped her.

As her massive nine white tails revealed themselves, stripping away her human disguise, Seo-Jin stood frozen in shock. Yet, looking into his eyes, Yeon-hee saw no fear or disgust-only a profound, devastating sorrow and deep concern for her safety.

When the sorcerer thrust a sharp, enchanted blade aimed directly at Yeon-hee's heart, Seo-Jin did not hesitate. He threw himself in front of her, shielding for with his own body as the blade pierced his chest.

Crimson blood splattered across the pristine white snow. As he collapsed, Seo-Jin gently caressed Yeon-hee's cheek with his bloodstained hand, whispering, "Whether you are a monster or a spirit... the gentle hand that saved me was real.

Please, forget me and live..."the moment his eyes closed and his breath stopped, the heart that had been frozen inside Yeon-hee for a thousand years began to beat violently with an agonizing pain. It was the awakening of true human grief and unconditional love.

Yeon-hee let out a sorrowful, piercing cry that shook the heavens. Without a second thought, she began to tear off her nine tails-the source of all her magical power and immortal life-one by one. Though an indescribable agony ripped through her body as if her soul were burning, her only thought was to save Seo-Jin.

Covered in blood, Yeon-hee gathered the massive spiritual energy of her nine severed tails and infused it deep into Seo-Jin's wounded chest. Terrified by the blinding, overwhelming aura of her sacrifice, the sorcerer and the hunters fled in panic.

Having expended every ounce of her magic, Yeon-hee lost her brilliant white tails completely, collapsing beside Seo-Jin as an ordinary human woman, her dark hair turning ashen white. A long silence passed before Seo-Jin's fingers twitched, and his eyes slowly fluttered open.

Miraculously restored to life, he😭 wept bitterly as he tightly embraced Yeon-hee. Though she no longer possessed her mystical powers, the warm tears flowing from her eyes were those of a beautiful, noble human. In losing her immortality, she had finally gained what she waited a thousand years for: a genuine human life and a true love to grow old with.

Descending the moonlit mountain path, supporting each other, they lived out their days as an ordinary, yet boundlessly happy couple.

I hope you have a happy day today.
